Canoe Island French Camp located in Washington's San Juan Islands is a unique residential camp for students, ages 9-17, who have an interest in improving their French speaking ability and learning about French culture and history through an enjoyable and active camp experience. French language is taught through activities that include sailing, kayaking, French cuisine, theater, art, fencing, sports, and music. For more information, please visit www.canoeisland.org.

The Society for Educational Visits and Exchanges in Canada (SEVEC) offers a variety of educational programs for groups: cultural and bilingual exchanges through SEVEC Youth Exchanges Canada, a reciprocal homestay exchange program for groups of 10-30 youth aged 11-18, and cultural and educational group tours to selected destinations across Canada through Rendez-vous Canada Educational Programs. Through an agreement with the Saskatchewan and Quebec Departments of Education, Saskatchewan grade 11 students are invited to participate in a Saskatchewan-Quebec six month student exchange program (3 months in Saskatchewan and 3 months in Quebec). Student application is invited from grade 10 core French, immersion and Francophone students. The student exchange will then occur in grade 11. Le Patron is a helpful tool that allows you to identify orthographic and grammar mistakes that we find frequently in written French. CPF-SK is pleased to announce the introduction of a new publication. "Le Saviez-vous" is designed for high school students, and is intended to spark their interest in expanding their French-second-language experiences beyond the classroom. For your copy of Le Saviez-vous, please click here.

Are you looking for an activity outside of school where you can speak French? Do you like to have fun? Why not join la Jeunesse Ribambelle in Saskatoon? They promote the French-Canadian culture through folk dances and jigs. Youth ages 4 to 15 are accepted, and at 16 years of age, you may join the adult group. Youth Heritage Fair Association Inc. (SYHF)
was established in the spring of 2000. The organization is committed to the promotion of the Historica Fairs Program in Saskatchewan, which is a multi-media education initiative designed to increase awareness and interest in Canadian History. Camp d'été de jour de la Trinité
is a French summer day camp offered by the Association communautaire fransaskois de la Trinité (ACFT) in St. Denis, Vonda, and Prud'homme, Saskatchewan. The camp offers children aged 6 to 12 an opportunity to have fun in a French setting during the summer months. The day camp's main priority is to reinforce the love and pride of French-language and culture, with qualified personnel to provide supervised activities. Katimavik's mission is to foster the personal development of Canada's young people through a challenging program of volunteer community work, training and group interaction, in both official languages. Visit www.katimavik.org to apply.

Young Canada Works is a Canadian Heritage program that offers summer work exchanges in another province for high school and post-secondary students. Check the Canadian Heritage website for this program and other types of employment opportunities for bilingual students at www.pch.gc.ca.

The Council of Ministers of Education, Canada (CMEC) provides bursaries for summer language studies for students who have completed Grade 11. Camp jeunes entrepreneurs is a week-long residential summer camp entirely in French organized by the Conseil de la Coopération de la Saskatchewan to help youth develop their inner entrepreneurship skills.
